Product launches consist of systematically produced
product lots that should exhibit and lead to the debugging
of unexpected quality issues. The first product lot in a launch is produced at
slower production rates and typically exhibits the highest number of quality
issues. The final product lot of a launch is produced during the assembly line
PPAP run and should be produced at production "run at rates" while achieving
the highest attainable quality levels. ACE Manufacturing Services LLC provides
non-partial Quality Inspection Teams to work within the customer’s plant to audit
and tabulate the quality data of the various product lots. At the end of each day
the non-partial quality data is summarized and delivered to the customer's point
person whom then distributes it to the responsible production managers. These
managers then put in place the directives to find and implement corrective actions
to solve their particular quality issues. This inspection process continues
until the launch is completed and or the product exhibits the highest quality levels
attainable.
Quality Inspection Teams in broad terms perform the following:
1. Each shift is assigned one the Quality Inspection Teams
2. Each of the Quality Inspection Teams has a Supervisor, Data Clerk and a
group of Auditor-Inspectors
3. The Quality Inspection Teams are supported by a ACE
Project Manager and Data Coordinator
4. The Quality Inspection Teams are trained to recognize the customer’s
product quality characteristics and to follow a standard auditing procedures
5. An audit sheet is formulated for the Auditor-Inspectors to be filled out for a
particular product sample size or for 100% of the produced product
depending on the product being launched
6. The Team’s Data Clerk builds the database as the shift progresses
7. At the end of the last shift the Data Coordinator collects and summarizes the
days quality issues and generates the customer specific reports and
deliveries them to the Project Manager
8. The Project Manager then deliveries the reports to the customer’s point
person and discusses the important quality issues of the day
9. This inspection process continues until the launch is completed and or the
product exhibits the highest quality levels attainable.
